August 17

Tom had a good day.  He is still making progress on many things that will get him back to doing everything on his own soon.  He did well on some kind of oxygen gas test which means the trache will be removed soon.  He will be doing the cardiac chair twice a day now.  He was put on an anti-depressant to help him cope.  (I guess this is common thing to do for patients dealing with aneurysm/stroke recovery).

Bryan visited this evening and was greeted with a smile, but Tom slept through all of their TV time tonight.  He was just exhausted.

Tom is getting his strength back for sure.  Last night he somehow "kicked off" the rehab boots that have been strapped on his legs most of the past month.  That is no small feat.   He pulled out his IV today as well.

The family meeting will be some time next week.  The doctors wanted more time to evaluate him.

Please pray for patience for Tom and continued strength for his therapy.  And please pray he does not pull the trache out in his frustration, because that would be a big set back for the progress he has made so far.

Please pray for the family as we support and encourage him.

Thanks again for praying,
Brenna
